Disfunkshion Magazine

Candice Accola was the quintessential interviewee: she was warm and bubbly during our talk. For her age, Candice has achieved success on many levels, yet still remains humble about her undertakings. Beautiful, personable, fashionable, and intelligent are just a few adjectives that best describe this ambitious, hard-working young woman. Since her role shift in Vampire Diaries, this starlet has many personal achievements piling up including her incredible heart for charity work and awareness advocacy. It is no surprise that Candice is one of the most sought out beauties in Hollywood who combines internal and external allure.

Can you relate to your character in the Vampire Diaries in any way?

Candice: I can definitely relate! My character recently discovers her super natural powers. Now while I can’t relate directly in that sense, I am also a young woman still discovering myself at the same time.

What has been your overall experience on the show?

Candice: It has been the biggest blessing ever. We have a really large cast but we are still all really close and tight. We film in Atlanta, and none of us are from there, so it kind of made us close in the sense that we are all in a new environment together.

What made you get into acting?

Candice: I actually started out singing. I was signed to a record label at 16, and from there I branched out into acting. I went through a lot of rejection and a lot of trial and error before I broke into the acting industry.

Speaking of music, what kind of music are you listening to at the moment?

Candice: I’m listening to the Miniature Tigers right now. I just saw Billy Idol in concert here in Atlanta! It was amazing!

What makes you so aware at such a young age to partake in charity events and to give back to the community?

Candice: I just stay true to who I am and what I know. I don’t go out of my way to do anything that isn’t in my daily routine- meaning, everything I do is genuine and from my heart. We place so much emphasis on things that don’t make a bit of difference in the world, and we fail to recognize important things like giving back to the community.

How would you describe your personal style?

Candice: Since being on the show, I am more conscious then I was before about what I wear. I’ve also become savvier. Los Angeles has some really great vintage/thrift stores. I’m also all about comfort. I only wear what feels good on my body. Sure, we all like to put on a designer dress every now and then and get dolled up, but let’s face it, that’s not practical for everyday women and everyday wear.
